Through the years, many women have become a part of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority through the Mu Pi Chapter. Each one striving to uphold the goals and principles set forth by our beloved founders while striving to follow in the footsteps of the sensational six.
Over the years, Mu Pi Chapter has launched a number of ‘unique’ programs like the “Authentic Pearls Scholarship and Awards Banquet” “Breast Health Awareness” (Information and Outreach), “Resume Writing and Interview Techniques Seminar”. Mu Pi members have also given rise to a host of annual campus and community project including the “Dove of Love Toy and Cloth Drive” (Christmas), “Community Chest: Families are Blessed” (Thanksgiving), “Easter Share ‘N Care” (Easter), “Freshmen Cosmetic Social”, “Sorority Symposium” and the “Neighborhood Clean-Up Campaign”. Other projects include “Feed the Hungry” and “Zeta Readership”.

Carson Zeta Amicae
As early as 1940, graduate chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., had begun to realize the importance of the prestige, good will, and cooperation of women who were not eligible to become members of any Greek-lettered organization.
Under the administration of the 12th International Grand Basileus Lullelia Walker Harrison, the first Amicae chapter was organized in Omaha, NE , in 1947. During the 1948 National Grand Boulé, Grand Basileus Harrision included in her report a recommendation that chapters be allowed to organize auxiliaries under the direction of the national body, and that all such auxiliaries be known as the Zeta Amicae. The recommendation was adopted, and the first charted chapter was given to the Lambda Zeta Chapter of Houston, TX in 1948. The first undergraduate chapter to present the auxiliary was Kappa Alpha of Miner Teachers College (Washington, DC) in 1949.
The Amicae (Latin for “Friends”) are a group of women, whom for various reasons did not pursue an undergraduate degree, but encompass the same ideals of Zeta women and have a desire to assist in furthering the programming of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The Amicae have rendered invaluable services to the Sorority and their communities.
